Sanskrit outreach programme

There are two outreach programmes under the Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy, RKMVERI, Belur Math. These two programmes are

1. Communicative Sanskrit
2. Pāṇinīya-praveśa

The Communicative Sanskrit programme is conducted to teach Sanskrit and a little of the treasures of wisdom of the Sanskrit literature as a outreach activity to people of all age groups and all walks of life. This is a three-­tier programme consisting of the following stages (each of 6 months duration certificate courses):

• Preliminary : alphabet, sentence construction, spoken Sanskrit.
• Intermediate :­ basic grammar, Gita and Upanishad chanting with meaning (of selected chapters and mantras).
• Advanced : higher grammar, selections from literature, composition.

The Pāṇinīya-praveśa programme is for teaching the basics of Pāṇini’s grammar as a outreach activity. Two Certificate courses are being offered under this outreach programme : 

• Laghusiddhāntakaumudī
• Vaiyākaraṇa-siddhāntakaumudī
